Oyster art painting

"What the sea keeps" This piece was created slowly and with a lot of intention - many hours, many layers, and each oyster shell painted by hand, one by one. I really took my time with this one. I live in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, an artsy little beach town on the Gulf Coast, and so much of my inspiration comes from simply being here. The shells, the soft coastal colors, the worn textures they all find their way into my work naturally. I love the imperfect beauty of oysters, and I wanted this piece to feel the same way: collected, layered, and full of quiet detail. Every shell in this artwork is different, just like the ones you'd find along the shoreline. Together they feel like small treasures gathered over time rather than something meant to perfectly match. I hope it feels calm, thoughtful, and timeless - the kind of piece you live with and notice something new in as the light changes. This is a one-of-a-kind original, made by hand here on the Gulf Coast, and it truly reflects the place I call home and the slow, hands-on process I love so much. 16x20” Acrylic box
